how it started
it started
with my dad.
He worked outside for forty years, and his back gave him a hard time of it for the last twenty. He’d reach for a towel from the stove, hold it on for ten minutes, and start over. Microwave, cool, microwave, cool. The towel was always either too hot or already going cold.
So we made him something simpler. A belt that you put on, set, and forgot — that stayed warm the whole time, without any reheating. He wore it the first evening for an hour, and then went and put it on the next morning before breakfast.
That became the Hearth Belt. The Embers Massager came after, for his hands, which had started seizing up after a lifetime of holding tools. We sat with that one for a long while before we were happy with it.
Warmth that stays. That’s what we make. Nothing more.
